Is it worth removing the anti-glaring filter of your monitor or is it a meme?

Of course it's a meme.

The anti-glare layer on most LCDs is built into the front polarizer. Remove it, and the screen won't work.

why would you want to remove the anti-glare? it keeps it from being a fucking mirror. hate shiny screens.

Naw you just get a privacy screen that can only be viewed with a pair of Polarized glasses.

Absolutely. I did it for all my monitors. The trick is to use the finest steel wool you can. Minimum of 0000, or finer if you can find it. Then you can get 800 grit sandpaper at automotive supply shops real cheap and polish it. Movies look incredible, with color indexes at least 300% more crisp and realistic.

Sometimes, but also exterior applications of 3M resins.

Works only for exterior applications on 3M resins.

Depends on what you mean, Glass screen are the best as they're the most versatile.
Resin/coated glossy is fucking terrible 100% of the time
Resin/coated/polarized matte is alright, but less varsatile.
Fused to glass though, allows you a better 'gloddy' than the coatings in the first instance, and for you to apple a matte film for matte viewing.
OP, I did it with my Viewsonic vx2268wm
It was a bad idea. Cleaning it is a pain. I can't sell it because it looks beaten up.
