So /g/, maybe you could share a bit of your experience and help me choose between Void and Slack. I've been using Arch for some years now, but I'm really sick of systemd and the way things are heading over there. By far the most sane distros I've tested were Gentoo, Slack and Void, but I enjoyed the last two the most.
So, what do voiders and slackers have to say about their distro? Slack seems pretty easy to handle with sbopkg/slakpkg+, and the only issue I had with Void was the lack of packages.
Just change systemd to init in arch..?
I like you OP. You think a lot like me. I'd personally go with Slackware over Void. It really depends on the hardware and the reason for the install. Just use both imo.

I use slackware and find no problems regarding it. Never used Void tho.

They're very similar, although Slackware is about staying the same and familiar to its users. Void is more about keeping things small, correct, simple and using newer, better software even if it has some drawbacks, like musl.
If you can manage your system, you should be fine with either of them. I'd recommend void because runit is insanely fast and I personally like everything about it minus what you mentioned, the occasional lack of packages.

I'm using a TP t460, so Slackware 14.2 works fine for me, I just need to update the kernel to 4.9 (it ocasionally freezes with 4.4). I use it for scientific computing and data visualization (amongside other simple tasks), so although I appreciate rooling releases I'm just fine with Slack's point releases
They're literally completely different distros in almost all respects.
Are you completely retarded? Apples and Oranges.
