So the answer to the title is no right?

except in this case the macOS one doesn't work regardless due to the broken SPI dataline. He might be able to hack up another solution soldering a long wire to reconnect the SPI dataline past the point of failure (though I don't know what the mainboard looks like to know if that's feasible to do), but it's still humorous to see how very hack-like and error-prone Apple's "just werks" solutions actually are.

If you still haven't upgraded to Macbooks, you're probably a hopeless case either way. Everybody but the diehard freetards or just retards jumped the Winshit ship after 10.

until you brand close end open source it as the new vertu invite only shilled by celebs on ig/snap with a black centurion as a social experiment and then sell the os to a nordic design starckian apparel with a zest of italian renaissance with a hint of romanesque then packaged as a constant fresh hip chic constant current vogue but discreet then it works out

I'm fairly fucking sure that keyboard and cursor functionality are more essnetial than fucking brightness.

And brightess doesn't work on many devices (including apple) because guess what.
Not following the fucking standards. Many manufacturers completely ignore acpi and this is the result
>>
>>61144562
What's wrong with apt-get?
>>
>>61145238

until you posit the fundamentals in the necessity of sourcing, going back to the roots keeping it real which is what every generation craves then the linux kernel will shine on its own over the macbook, merely thru image as the understanding thru mass conversion is within the image just as mac created its own realm but the second coming will be a true image without an artificial overtone as origination without label defined as faded and transitory when every kernel compilation is modulated through every core secured by the very physical body driving freedom naturally the proprietary ideal an exchangeable perpetually peered to be seeded unto one.

How does it feel knowing that your trashbook gets outperformed by a hundreds of dollars cheaper notebook?
>>
>>61145681
Why the fuck would you do something tasking on a fucking laptop?

Also since you like meming so much...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnapaZYD2cU
>>
>>61145742
>Why the fuck would you do something tasking on a fucking laptop?
Because you bought a Pro level laptop for work?
>>
>>61145742
Because it's a 2k laptop?
or maybe because it has "pro" written on it?
or maybe because Apple even advertises it as a viable solution for video editing on the go?
Stop being a retard and defending your trashtop anon, I know chugging down the truth is hard but you have to do it sooner or later.

Just imagine how much faster that would be on a laptop that isn't a total fucking piece of shit like a fagbook.
>>
>>61145742
So why is the Macbook on a platform? (inb4 to help prevent it overheating)
>>
>>61143127
ah darn you got me again
>>
>>61145789
Sure but why do you make the jump from "work" to "tasks obviously not made with the device in mind". Buying a laptop for performance heavy jobs is like getting a Ferrari to transport loads of potatoes.

A mediocre desktop would've probably finish it in under one minute. Also what's with the differences despite same CPUs with Zbook and Inspirion? At least find some credible shit.

>>61145832
>Because it's a 2k laptop?
With a HiDPI screen, great battery life, build quality and all the shit. You're not getting great performance in a mobile form, whether you spend 2k or 20k.

>because Apple even advertises it as a viable solution for video editing on the go?
Well, it is. If you're desperate enough to edit video on the go, it will do the job. It's just a shitty idea.

>>61145858
Muh conspiracy.
>>
>>61145918
>Sure but why do you make the jump from "work" to "tasks obviously not made with the device in mind"
Because there are people who do performance heavy jobs for work where portability is a must, like traveling.
These people buy "Pro" level devices.

>>61145742
Also, I noticed that Linus is pretty specific with what formats he is importing and using and exporting, but the guy in the video doesn't really mention them.

What codecs you use and the codec settings can make a big difference to export times (and quality).

News flash, jackass, a lot of people use macbooks for video editing and other tasking bullshit.

lower res than the higher dell xps models which are are actually cheaper
>it is. If you're desperate enough to edit video on the go, it will do the job
I believe it would if the fans didn't just kick in when the CPU is about to die of overheating :^)
Oh and nice build "quality", enjoy your trashbook when it drops in the ground and gets dented and scratched forever not to mention the dogshit PCB which will die if a fucking bug gets inside it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdz2harkuKM
>>
>>61145981
>there are people who do performance heavy jobs for work where portability is a must
Sure but they are a minority. Pro includes everyone from them over webdevs, PS fags, and your doctor.

How do they compare in battery life? Being able to last longer during a flight and take longer to encode when you got power back, can be a decent trade off.

>What codecs you use and the codec settings can make a big difference to export times
The only difference is using specific software for the second run AFAIK.
>>
>>61146094
So what about battery life? Weight?

Besides come on, who the fuck drops a laptop?
>>
>>61144651
>not knowing you can get systemd on gentoo
It seems that you have not installed gentoo.
>>
>>61146130
>battery life
>weight
ROFL, even the chinkpads outperform trashbooks in this aspect (and many other to be fair)
chinkpads are generally more lightweight because they're made of plastic and have longer lasting batteries (10~12 hrs vs 15~17 hours on the thinkpad).
>who the fuck drops a laptop
Stop, your retardation is overflowing.
