TL;DR any and all X299 motherboards seem to suck. Specifically the VRMs and they non existent cooling.

>TL;DR any and all X299 motherboards seem to suck.

And yet it's one person reporting a problem.

But let me remind you, when the same thing happened (one person) with the RX 480 killing motherboards, you were quick to point out that it was only one case and totally nothing wrong with AMD.

So does the road go both ways, or is it just okay when AMD does it?

Absolutely not. That was a fucking blunder and a half, and it was great it was reported.
Clearly someone needs to say something, so these things can be fixed.
Not everyone here is a partisan fucking 12yo

You think Der Bauer is shilling?
Because I think he's just trying to go to work.
For the store. That sells X299 motherboards.

If you're into suicide runs then I guess it's okay.
Ryzen can't OC that much though, and considering what I've seen of overclocking 10+ cores I don't think I'd want to overclock it
>>
>>61136638
Look at the maximum temps though. 110c, and the package hit the thermal limit so you know the bastard was throttling.
>>
Is x299 salvageable if they just reduce the all core turbo frequency? Having all 8/10 cores slamming 4ghz is what's kill this thing.

Although faggot in the youtube video seems to think no one won't overclock, or even ignoring even reasonable overclocks, there are frequencies below 4.5ghz no matter what intel wants you to believe.

Reminds me of the X79 boards. Manufacturers just slapped on crappy heatsinks and called it a day. Or in the case of Gigabyte (shoddy af, gl with your RMAs), there was no VRM cooling. The lack of adequate cooling with an OCed chip = 100 degrees.

You know what the fucking problem with motherboards these days is?
Back in the 2500k days you could buy a board that looked like
>>61137363
and get top tier power delivery to the cpu so you could overclock as much as you wanted.
These fucking kikes caught on and gated their VRMs behind other features. So now the $100 z270 boards can't overclock for shit and you have to buy the better model with RGB leds, special painted PCB, super duper audio, kILLERNIC, etc to get good VRM.

This isn't how it should be. There should still be a budget board that lets you overclock and plug in a fucking GPU.

It's not like you can't have the gaymer looks AND decent cooling. The real reason is cost. It's simply cheaper to slap a lump of useless metal on there, rather than a proper heatsink.
