I don't believe any of those prices. HBM2 is too expensive and there is every indication that the die is gonna be huge compared with the big Pascal so they have no margin to exert any price competition in the GPU space.

It's going to be $499 minimum unless they are going to release a special GDDR5 or 5X SKU. With that level of performance, and power (heat) output, prepare for Fury X 2.0. Of course maybe I'm wrong and it'll be the ThreadRipper of graphics cards.

First of all, this isn't even a pure workstation card. That's what the FirePro-line is for. But even if it was, apart from halving the VRAM and adding snowflake certified drivers, what other differences will there materially be? Are you telling me that consumer cards are going to have MORE shaders? It's already throttling the line even in borderline-open bench environment so they can brute-force higher memory or core clocks either. This is basically it. It's going to live or (most likely) die on driver optimizations and price points. It appears AMD can skate with an R&D budget big enough to support RTG, or it's CPU division. But not both at once.

I agree and disagree with half of what you're saying. I'm gonna stand by that it's a workstation only card. It competes with 2000$ Nvidia Quattro cards for professional applications, isn't marketed towards gamers(just hyped by them), and currently has a two available models, the lowest priced of which is 300$ more than the cost of what am average person spends on a PC.

I've been a fan of Intel for the last 10 years. My last 3 builds were 5820k, 6800k and 7700k.

I switched to Ryzen 1700x. I don't regret a thing so far.

That being said. I've never been a fan of team red GPU. I think they should stop selling GPU for now, take over the CPU market because they CERTAINLY have the potential, and then worry about GPU in like 2020 when the next generation of technology should theoretically happen.
