As someone who has a 144hz monitor with Freesync, its lovely and I don't regret it for one moment. 144hz is perhaps a little overkill and 120 would still be fine, but unless I was going up to 4k, which I wouldn't since my Fury X still doesn't top out 144 @ 1440 in the large majority of modern games, I couldn't go back to 60.
