Sorcery literally asks if you want to have this additional feature or that fix for specific whatever, each individually, installing the feature after you said yes, meaning you have to wait for the first one to complete, then answer what to do with the next, etc.
Meanwhile based Portage either doesn't ask at all or (-av) lists you all packages that will be installed with their respective features all at once and asks you if this is okay. If you confirm it automatically fetches, compiles and installs everything in one go without ever stopping to wait for your advice.
