WHY DOESN'T IT EVER FUCKING WORK
My MacBook© Pro® with Retina® Display© doesn't have this problem
>>61108444
Neither does my hackintosh

Windows file search hasn't worked since Windows 7.
Works on my machine.
Doesn't work for me either. Only thing it can search for me is items on windows settings. Can't even open mspaint through that.
>>61108444
>>61108475
Neither does my Debian desktop or OS X laptop. Come to think of it, Wintrash is the only thing that doesn't just work.
>>61108373
it worked for the first week after install now it's useless apparently you gotta do some fuckery with the registry or some such shit to get it to work but cba I don't need it anyway
>got an Enterprise Win10 laptop at work
>bought a WinPro laptop for home, obviously with the intent to install GNU+Linux as the main OS
>set up Win10 for the hell of it, just in case I want to boot into it for gaymes
>realize it's utter dogshit
>ads everywhere
>CPU ramps up to 100% during bootup, which is at least 5 times longer than muh arch sanic boot
>hard drive spins up to full speed as well
>lag and general slowdown for basic shit that flies super fast on my weaker work laptop
This is fucked, I thought it was just memes, but enterprise is the only way to even use Windows at this point. Year of the Linux desktop fucking when?

This should be sticky, makes windows 10 slightly less shit
>>61108373
Their update doesn't work either.
Works here..
Nothing works
>>61108373
i really liked the way it worked in windows xp.
>>61108373
telemetry does
>>61108571
wew
glad I still use win 7 :^)
>>61108373
Too bad the rest of wangblows doesn't work as good as cortana.
Cortana knows my exact location, even though I never told it. But taskbar lock is out by 6 hours, even if I correct it every boot.. Get weather report for location in different country.

xp didn't index files unless you installed that fucking horrendous windows desktop search "recommended" update. consequentially, file searches were slow but always accurate
>>61109229
and I wonder why they give so dumb "solutions" in their retarded community
>>61108766
differences between pro and enterprise? I am considering getting w10 eventually and would like to know the options
>>61109774
Enterprise isn't bloated with botnet and other bullshit, all other Win10 versions are. Performance is better on Enterprise.
>>61108373
Want a solution?
Don't use it.

>using the search on windows

It maybe botnet but you don't have use it in the shitty configuration you got it in
>>61108373
What do you mean? Our (((telemetry))) works just fine!
Rajeet
>>61108373
Works fine for me except searching on internet cause I have disabled telemetry. Anyway you shouldn't use for web searching anyway as it uses bing and edge. Fuck off micro$oft
>>61109940
but it is convenient when it works
>>61109329
Broken appreciation mechanics
>>61108373
Used to have this problem, disable cortana and it should work.

>hard drive spins up to full speed as well
I hope you mean its constantly accessed, because hard drives must always spin at the same speed.

A lot. You're better off googling for a list than asking here.
Notably is the complete absence of Metro Apps, the Windows Store as a whole and all that shit on LTSB. Also no ads anywhere, start menu, login screen, etc (Though you still have the icon for OneDrive in Explorer by default you have to remove)
No forced updates, you pick the ones you want and you're only given security ones at all, no feature ones (which may be a negative to you if you want something from the Creators Update).
>>61109229
Woah, a post on 4chan, and it perfectly fits the pre-conceived notions linux shills here always had. Definitely blindly believing this!
>>61116691
What's this ads everywhere meme?
I have whatever version of win10 that came with my lenovo and I never, ever see ads. Not on my lock screen, not on my "metro-lite" start menu, nowhere. Did I get a broken version of win10?
>>61108373
works for me
I just use everything
>>61114354
I'm afraid to hackintosh because I think it will prevent me from dual-booting windows.
yes of course i wanted to Bing this thank you so much
>>61116991
Why on Earth should it do that?
You can dual boot Windows/OSX on Macs.
In fact you don't need OSX for Windows to boot on a Mac.
You need to install more botnet.
>>61109692
I wonder if they were slow because of slow SATA speeds, or because the indexing actually searched for the file sector by sector instead of an MFT
>>61108444
It does with Windows 10™ installed on it.
>>61114226
Yeah, 100% disk usage.
>>61118223
i don't think bus speed would be at all relevant because it's lots of tiny reads to get every files' name to compare against $search_term and then retrieve size and date attributes where matched. disk seek time on olde timey mechanical disks is your killer. it would probably work absolutely fine on even a cheap ssd.
