To be honest, probably not.
Its a really impressive machine both in performance and hardware sourcing. I was expecting this thiby to cost a lot more, but they got the parts for dirt cheap and have put out some actual competition to PC gaming.

Now of course, I'd still personally prefer a PC. A PC can plain and simple do more, I like to play older games, I like just shitposting, I like some PC exclusive games.
But for the first time since the Xbox 360, were seeing pretty fantastic performance for a good price.

But ya know, give it 2 years before the next reboot and by then a 500$ pc will be better in a performance standpoint again.

Consumers who dont know better or actually want the specs advertised on their favorite system.

There is no way a hardware bundle costing $499 would be able to run games at a baseline 4k60fps, not even real PC hardware can do that reliably.

More ram than you need. Xbox One X is 12GB shared memory, a bunch of which will be going towards the GPU. 8GB RAM+ 4GB VRAM is mostly equivalent.

Newly launched console(Xbox X) being equal/beating equally priced PC is nothing new.
When newer hardware is released or prices drop on PC within 6-12months after console launch, you are still stuck with the same console for easily over 3-4 years and PCs gain advantage.
$500 is also around the point when adding few hundred dollars can boost the PC performance way past the consoles.
The bonus with PCs is also the fact that you can use them for more than just entertainment like email and excel just as an example.
While consoles have basic web browsers and stuff like Youtube easily accessible they are bit too clunky without a keyboard and mouse.

I used to be all about console when I was a kid and lived in an area with shit internet, but I got fed up as fuck with the Disk Read Error PS2, and the RROD X360.. I can easily fix a pc, I can upgrade a pc, I don't have to worry about a pc overheating, I can easily upgrade the cooling system on my pc, its not being scrunched down to a tiny box that could have been better improved if some designer wasn't being told to make it small. Oh yeah and how about not having a dvd drive that has a circuit board programmed to the logic board COMPLETELY UNNECESSARILY other than to make it a pain in the ass to work on

Yeah, it uses a keyboard and mouse, a mans controller. Multiple buttons, backlit availability, certain keyboards have macro / turbo capability. The mouse can move in any direction your analog stick can while giving you several buttons at your disposal depending on the mouse you choose including again... macros, and turbo options. It's no coincidence they typically don't pair pc and console players together. PC typically dominates as we have better ability to move, aim, and perform several actions at once. Otherwise if you prefer controller, you can buy a usb dongle on ebay for around 10-15 bucks.
