Font rendering is honestly one of the bigger reasons I've stuck with it. Every time I've tried linux it just looks cartoony and over-boldened and shitty.

Only really run into that problem when you buy AMD because devs test extensively on Intel and Nvidia.
>>61085204
for gnome 3 fags not running Ubuntu that want less trash font:
>upgrade from the freetype package to freetype-freeworld in the RPM Fusion repo
this particular version uses RGBA subpixel rendering that's not in the default.
>use gnome-tweak-tool to set Font Hinting to "none" & font antialiasing to "Rgba"
>make a file named .Xresources in your home directory -- should only contain "Xft.lcdfilter: lcddefault"
this enables subpixel rendering.
Tbqh, I feel making a msttcorefonts package is pointless because Liberation Fonts exist ... and replacing Microcuck fonts like Arial, Times New Roman, Courier, etc.
Pretty sure Fedora's implementation of these fonts is outdated, IIRC. Or at least used to be. Might as well give it a look over, because, version 2 looks way better with these """newer""" freetype settings

I'm not ignoring it, its just inconsequential.
AMD has been crashing games with shit drivers in memoriam ad infinum.

IN EVERY GAME

There is literally a bug that causes playing a video in a web browser to crash. Changing game profiles causes any app using the GPU to crash.
AMD is garbage lol, you don't see shit like this on Nvidia drivers.
Nvidia drivers are like....
>huge list of new features
>weird shimmer on some random tree in a game fixed.

seriously, it's time to stop fucking posting
>>61085757
Notice how it says may crash?
The AMD one says if you have a certain card and play a video it will crash. Not to sound like a dick but the bug you are refering to as an equivalent is an edge case that you probably couldn't reproduce vs AMD having an entire model of card that couldn't play videos in Firefox.
>>61085787
>The AMD one says if you have a certain card and play a video it will crash
Did you even fucking read what you posted?
>Intermittent crash MAY be experienced in Mozilla Firefox while doing video playback on SOME Radeon RX 400 Series graphics products
It's time to face the facts, you're a fucking moron.
Not only were you completely wrong about that, but the AMD driver lists that has a FIXED issue, whereas the Nvidia one lists that bug as an OPEN issue.
>>61085836
Unless you can actually prove otherwise, the bug explanations aren't even remotely comparable.
AMD drivers cause your shit to not even wake up from sleep and your audio to die.
The latest drivers have an ongoing performance issue that causes games to be slow with freesync.
I'm glad I bought g-sync so I'll never see issues like that.
