Recently got a Huawei Y6 II to replace my Moto E2, my first time with a 5'5 screen, still haven't figured out if it's actually better to have a screen this big since I don't play games, but I'll get used to it unless it breaks in a couple of weeks (doesn't feel too solid)
Removed most of the stock apps but battery life has actually gotten worse, does Huawei/emui have a battery saving app that actually works and I got rid of it?
Also, I really miss the active display on the E2, is there some way of getting something like that on this phone?
Thanks /g/

A friend of mine ordered at tinydeal. Got his phone, everything alright but if something breaks it horrible. He sent it in. Besides long shipping times like with every chink shit he had to pay a handling fee and they say it can't be repaired and offered him some crap phones or 30% of the original price. Just don't buy there.

Can anyone recommend me a phone which has:
> a new Android, Nougat or Marshmallow
> dual sim
> max 5" screen

> custom ROMs as a plus too

I mostly would use it to listen to music, browse the internet and Messenger. I live in Denmark, I'm in Lebara. I'm willing to spend up to $500, but I think it's possible to get something much cheaper.

Hi what is the best phone between the MI5, MI5c and MI5s ? is the MI5c better than the MI5?
>>
>>61077491
The Mi5c is garbage. It was Xiaomi testing their own SoC.

Regarding the 5s and 5:
The 5s is more powerful and has an aluminium back over the 5's plastic and glass.
It doesn't have the IR blaster or OIS.
>>
>>61077480
Well I don't know what I'm getting, but I really want one with a physical keyboard because I type a lot on my phone and it's definitely much faster for me. I don't really care about anything other than that part.

Well I mean I still have the iPhone, not like I can't just throw my sim in there and just start using again if I really wanted to. That being said I wanted to see what android was all about while still having a comparable phone but also not breaking the bank. (The iPhone was $1000 unlocked and I wasn't looking to repeat that just to try something else out) fortunately the S8 just dropped and the s7 edge was much less because of that.

The only things I really miss so far is the ability to send large video files via imessage and the ability to unlock my computer with my Apple watch. The latter I knew was going to happen but the video message shit does irk me. I think part of the reason I went to the s7 edge as well was because I recently purchased a gear s3 frontier and it was incredibly gimped on iPhone but even then it still did way more than my Apple watch ever did and that got gears really turning in my head about how much better android as a whole might be. (Yes I know the s3 doesn't run android wear)

Not a purchasing question but it's related to smartphones so here goes:

I bought some long unofficial phone charging cables (so I can use phone comfortably in bed while it's charging). But the phone has started restarting randomly when I'm using it while charging using these cables (still using my original phone charger plug, so the cable is the only variable). Simply charging it with these cables but NOT using it at the same time seems to be ok. Also when I switch back to my original short cable, it doesn't happen even when using while charging.

My question is what exactly about the new cables is causing this to occur? I'm guessing something to do with power but I can't into physics/electricity so I don't know what all the units and numbers and stuff mean. I would like to try another brand of long cables (for the convenience), so if there's something specific to look out for, I can do that before buying.

I would say plastic oled screen + optionally a pack of thin screen protectors desu. It's lighter and there's no chance of it ever shattering so you can finally handle your phone like a worthless piece of shit like you could back when we still used dumbphones.

>>
>>61079899
You can get 7-8" tablets that take a SIM card and allow you to make phone calls etc.
>>
>>61079960
Don't know about cases, check AliExpress about that, but if you look on the site, the 4G bands are displayed, it picks up AT&T
>>
Anyone with a Moto G4 Play know of good spare batteries to get for it?

Looks like the only viable option is to get off-brand ones off Amazon, which I've done with other phones to good results, but I don't know what to go with.
>>
>>61079925
>>61079945
I was mostly saying oled because it's slightly lighter, thinmer and I think less fragile. and it can use less power if you're willing to put up with black themes.

durability in terms of burn in and just lower brightness/coloaccuracy over time is a concern though.
>>
Looks like the new pixels will be a joke.

Anyone have a Axon 7? Do they even work?
>>
>>61080071
I got this same problem with my Moto G5 (which uses the same battery as the G4 Play). One of the reasons I got it was the removable battery but I didn't realize Motorola doesn't actually sell any replacement batteries, it's just off-brand ones available.

I've decided to just wait for the highest spec version of the iPhone 8.

I'm tired of the Android device maker fuckery.

It's either some phone with amazing specs but absolutely garbage support or Google's Pixel phones with underwhelming hardware but decent software support.

I've never owned an iPhone but it can't be worse than this.

Question senpai.

I just bought an s7 edge last week and while working an event yesterday my phone recorded some extremely jittery video, it was super hot outside though and the phone was getting noticeably hot and even stopped me from recording video at all. Is it possible that the heat is what caused the jittery video or is the phone itself having issues? I'm using a class 10 64gb micro SD in it as well.

I was recording in FHD 60fps
>>
>>61080241
Don't think so, but a work-around would be to install two separate browser apps (chrome and chrome beta for example)
>>
>>61080190
Off-brand isn't that big a deal though, as long as you pick a good brand. My Galaxy Note 4 ran perfectly fine on the Powerbear batteries I got for it.

Problem is, across every replacement battery available on Amazon, there are two reviews. Literally. Two reviews for the same battery, nothing for the rest.

Hi everyone. I ordered a Motorola Moto Z play from Amazon.de at a lower price thanks to a fellow /g/entooman. Coming from a S5 mini, what do I expect in terms of rooting difficulty ? What about flashing custom roms ? I had LineageOS 13, but it is said that Resurrection Remix is better. Does resurrection remix exists in Marshmallow for the Z play ? It seems to me that the major complaint about OP5 is that it's more expensive than their previous phones.

Now that's not really an argument in itself for saying that it's bad phone. It sucks, yes, but it doesn't mean that it's no longer worth the price, right?

To be fair, most phones have gone up in price in the last couple of years. Galaxy S7 was certainly not as expensive as S8. So it's only natural that Oneplus is raising their prices although I agree that the curve has been way too steep.

I'm not trying to defend Oneplus here, just want to know why everyone is treating it differently. Most reviewers seem toa gree that it's still one of the best phones out there so why is it so hard to justify a price tag of 500 USD which is cheapoer than any other major phone?
>>
>>61082335

Helloooo!
I currently own an iPhone 5s and the screen (not the glass) is fucked up. Idk why, was using it today when some pixels just burned after I touched the area they are in, also there are weird lines all across the screen itself.
The phone still works perfectly but I don't wanna spend 150-200€ to change the whole screen.

So, I'm looking for a new smartphone.
I like iPhones but the 7 costs almost 800€ here so I'm not really sure about it.
I live in Italy btw and i want to change carrier. I found some cool promotions and I was thinking about buying the iPhone 7 and then activating a promotion. I don't wanna spend like 30€ per month for 30 months.

Or, is there any cool alternative? Maybe under 500€? I don't like HUGE phones, also cool design is a big plus.

Got it for $120 back in February, it's a phenomenal phone for the price and the wide angle camera is what I miss most on it. Ended up selling it to my lil bro for 150 and trading my 6s that I traded for an S7 edge that I traded for an s8

What kinda world do you live in?
Are smartphones your country's currency?
Do you live in a secluded community based on smartphone trading?
>>

A) It doesnt
B) Its video quality is throw-it-in-the-trash tier

Yes, reviews say it's mediocre for the price
Once again the camera software isn't as good as the fucking camera itself

>>
>>61083045
Why cant we just have a camera like that with something similar to iOS's software
>>
>>61083079
Because Chinese jews
>>
>>61082939
I think it's because it loses points for stuff like no OIS, slower autofocus etc.

Republic does $30/mo for 2gb, plus no chinkphones :(
>>
>>61083218
Actually, lemme correct myself, no chinkphones on Verizon either, but at least by leaving verizon I'm giving myself the option. Plus since I have a Moto X Pure, I was thinking about just taking it to Republic anyway, as VZW doesn't """"officially"""" support it
>>
>>61083235
>no chinkphones on Republic* either
god damn I suck today
>>
>>61079661

Is this a good deal? Compared to a 1+5 for a little less?

Has anyone used Samsung's trade in program? My S4 is in good shape except I've added an extended battery. I recently bought it a new extended battery but I imagine I could return it (was only 30 bucks anyways so no big loss regardless) but I think it's about time for a new phone.
