Why does Noctua make the best case fans?
>>
Paid shills on 4chan? It's more likely than you think.
>>
>>61067804
I don't think Noctua needs a marketing budget
>>
>>61067781
They have the best engineers and also they're expensive so they can pay for better engineering and materials
>>
>>61067893
I've only seen that they have the best support of any fan manufacturer, but otherwise are analogous to other fans on the market.
>>
>>61067828
Because of shills
Theyr products are average for high-end prices
noctua shills are worse than apple shills

>Check reviews
>Noctua does not win single one be it cooling/silence
>Noctua cost 2-10x price of products that beat noctua
>FKGT

Any self-lubricating fan is 90+% noctua quality
Do not fuck up the blades design = already there
Do anything more=beats noctua.
>>
>>61067907
Look at benchmarks, their fans are always near the top

I've tested a lot of fans personally and Noctua sounds way better than most, their sound signature is very unobtrusive

Premium things are always diminishing returns. To be any better than very good takes a lot of effort, which costs money. Like trying to go faster and faster in a car, you eventually need a lot of power for that extra 1 mph increase in speed thanks to drag and air thickness multiplying in front of you.

I hate Noctua and I love Noctua. I have three Noctua NF-F12's, even though their color scheme is the ugliest and farty color scheme. Silence is the key. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/b2vRsY/noctua-case-fan-nff12pwm

When I was putting this pc together, I immediately disregarded these ugly brown-on-tan Noctua NF-F12's for the simple reason that they were brown-on-tan. I knew nothing about Noctua at the time. A friend asked how my build was going and I told him I was almost done and about to order some Fractal Design GP-12's to fill out my Fractal Design Define Mini C case. Nice black and white fans. Case comes with two of them already. He told me about Noctua fans, invited me over to see his Noctua's in action. The fans really are ugly but they really are silent at medium speed and barely noticeable at full speed even in a quiet room.

I now have three Noctua NF-F12's pulling in from the front of my case. I use the two Fractal Design GP-12's to exhaust out the back and out the top. I might swap out the GP-12's for NF-F12's eventually. I was initially going for a black and white color scheme but the low decibels of the ugly Noctua fans have made me accept the fact that there will be ugly brown-on-tan in my black and white case. I hate Noctua for that. But I love them for the low decibels.

Be quiets are also slightly cheaper than Noctua in additional to being as quiet and not having horrible colors. Noctua's industrial fans are gray/black but they are loud as fuck.

i'm not up to date on this but it doesn't see to have changed much. scythe slipstream is good for a quiet case fan (~900 rpm). gentle typhoon ap-15 for static pressure. bequiet is good too

Bequiet is also a meme
>>
>>61070969

Never tried the Gentle Typhoon

I also liked Be Quiet, pretty comparable to Noctua IMO
>>
You don't buy Noctua for the lowest temps period, you buy them because they usually come quite close to the lowest temps but with much less noise. Of course a 5000rpm turbo Delta screamer is gonna cool better, but not everyone wants to sit next to a case full of them.

Additionally, my case and its fans will likely last through a few builds--I'd rather pay more now and have something lasting then deal with replacing buzzing/clicking fans every year or so.
>>
>>61069008
lolwut? two quite cheap revoltec fans I bought 2005 are still running in a friend's case. a drop of lube every other year and they just keep going.
>>
>>61067781
Objective tests don't really confirm that, so I believe it's a "meme". Just like for example Hyper 212, which is not the best price/perf cooler and pretty much never was.
>>
>>61070533
None of the fans you specified are any good. Dozens of reviews have found them all to be on par with shitty fans that come standard when you buy a cheap case.

this and the components are pretty low powered. you usually don't need a lot of fans unless you're an autistic overclocking freak who cares if the temperature reading is a couple of degrees lower. the fewer fans you have, the less noisy your pc is. in the current year you don't need to have a noisy pc.
>>
>>61093932
Your PC will be less noisy with fresh air coming in because the CPU fan will slow down. Better having 1 CPU fan and 3 case fan at low speed than going full retard and having your CPU fan alone going full speed anytime it processes shit.
>>
>>61093869
>Board chipset
LOL this is literally the hottest part of any pc you retarded sack of shit.
VRM cooling is extremely important especially when overclocking. a lot of boards will produce a fucktonne of smoke without the right cooling

>radiator
what kind of a mega ultra faggot retard uses volatile and dangerous/deadly chemicles just to cool their pc? liquid cooling is the ultimate meme, as it always breaks, is louder than just fans, and when it breaks it takes everything along with it
>>
>>61093928
lol they're not bad fans but some of the fans from other brands are pretty good too
>>
>>61094083

even bog standard, entry level AIO's are rated to last 6 years minimum.

That's long enough for most enthusiasts to get the use out of their current systems before upgrading.
>>
Still one posts better fans. SAD!
>>
>>61094537

>6 years minimum.

Give me some sort of evidence that this is true. If you had said air cooler I would've believed you as fans are relatively unlikely to fail (looking at tens of thousands of hours expected lifetime) but I have my doubts the cheapest, nastiest AIO pump can sustain full tilt for 6 years.

The original review had temps listed too but it seems to be dead now.

I own the P14 and A15s and Thermalright is better and cheaper. The A15s are much closer though where it doesn't really matter. You're paying extra for the warranty and extra crap they give you and I guess some dumb e cred. If you don't want the brown then go Thermalright all the way.

they warranty on the AIO is 5/6 years, that means they're rated for the time period.

If you buy an AIO with and 1 or 2 year warranty, it's junk and they have no faith in its ability to last.

AIOs are the fucking worst, they use dangerous hazardous materials while pumps, swishing water is noisey as fuck and you have to deal with noisey as fuck fans regardless...

EK's 140mm fan

- Speed: 2500 rpm (+/- 10%)
- Rated Voltage: 12V DC
- Power Draw: 9.07W
- Dimensions: 140 x 140 x 25 mm
- Max Air Flow: 144 CFM = 244 m3/h
- Static Pressure: 5.28mm H2O = 51.8 Pa
- Noise Level: 48.4 dBA

Looks a lot worse than the 109P1412H101 in every spec including power draw except for life expectancy.

The EK lasts for 10000 more hours.
>>
>>61101269
the specs are full of shit. even if the specs are accurate for a brand new fan the noise level will be higher by the time it reaches the end of its life expectancy. and just the sheer dBA measurement doesn't tell you if the noise has an annoying pitch or a ticking sound etc

Haven't read anything really ITT but I'll give my 2 cents. Cooler Master Silencio 120mm are good. Great for heatsinks and radiators. They're usually around the $22 mark.

Then there are the Vortex 120mm and 140mm pwm fans from cougar. Move a great amount of air and are silent. The 140mm particularly excels here. The 140mm is usually $20. The 120mm about $17.
