I want to get started with c++ and open frameworks. they suggest using visual studio (which I have been in- and uninstalling for the last 4 (!!!!!) hours now) and frankly I'm losing patience with this shit piece of software.
they also suggest using qt but qt's interface looks horrible. I don't want to die from eye cancer.
can any c++ library (like open frameworks) run on any c++ IDE? can I use something else?
what other good c++ IDEs are out there?

>shit piece of software
>literally the most used ide in c++ development

that was me being sarcastic because the installer is horrible and it's like 20gb

For c++ just use tmux + vim honestly.
>>61058235
is it compatible with open frameworks?
is every c++ IDE compatible with everything?

>but qt's interface looks horrible
Looks ok to me.

huh that looks different from the one shown on the qt webpage

tells you a lot about the state of C++ programming

I suggest you go with Qt Creator since it's cross platform. VS is nice but you'll get locked in on Windblows. Remember that Windows is mostly a normies OS, a lot of developers use Linux or Mac.
holy shit I've still not managed to install vs 2015 correctly.
I can't even uninstall or repair it. I've tried literally everything. Neither uninstallling from console works nor using microsofts weird "total vs installer" git project works. everything is broken.
I'm now manually installing all components but I don't think I'll ever be able to install a working vs version on my maschine. holy shit why can installing an IDE be so difficult.
