It's an alright phone, I'm glad I upgraded from my galaxy SIII to this.

That said, there are flaws

>Build quality is low; it's a very fragile phone. From keeping the phone in my front left pocket (with case), it's taken on a warped form, and started a crack in the side wall. I'm not afraid of it bending and breaking because I'm not a retard actively trying to break their phone, but you have to be a little more careful than some other phones.
>Having to upgrade to the beta to get a more fresh version of android, and fix issues with the audio jack output muting every now and then

Doesn't matter which one all of them are better even the older OnePlus One that's 801 based. It won't overheat and chew through battery plus has a good community and roms.
>>
>>61054612
OnePlus 3t is nice. The newer OP5 seems too pricey. OnePlus seems to be headed the Google route where the Nexus line died (Nexus 5/6/5x/6p/Pixel). $500 dollars you can pickup a new LG G6 for $400 or buy two of them for $500. HTC10 is in the $200-300 range which has one of the best cameras and is a tank. Other phones such as the LG V20 and former Samcrap line are also in the $200-350 dollar range.
>>
>>61062386
I was talking about the Q10, the Bold is rather old.
>>
>>61054468
It just got a new update like, half a month ago, from 7.0 to 7.1.1
I won't pretend that that's super speedy delivery but I have found that using older versions of Android usually has no major negative impact on your quality of life, as most apps will take anything over Android 4.0.
I bought my Robin when it was $170 and still in production, and I have had no issues with it. It's extremely smooth, I disabled most cloud features, and even then I don't keep all my musical and shit on my phone (pmpfag) so while I would have preferred user replaceable storage and battery, I don't miss it that deeply.
At the time of purchase there was quite genuinely NOTHING better at the sub 200 Dollar price point. The only other appealing devices within that price point were the OnePlus X (which wouldn't have had one of my LTE bands and was perpetually out of stock/in and out of production) and used older Nexus devices. Even the Xiaomi products within that budget were either shit or missing some specific feature I actually needed.
I'd still recommend the Robin, it's a solid everyday phone, I only wish it was a touch smaller/thicker, had way better battery life, and had more user upgradeability.
>>
>>61063184
1440p is completely useless on any display below 25". All you're doing is wasting battery in exchange for no noticeable visual difference unless you put your face right up on it.

I've got a phone with a 1080p IPS and a phone with a 1440p IPS, and I can tell the difference. This is the same shit that people have been saying for years. Last time it was
>You don't need 1080p on a phone you're just wasting your battery.
>>
>>61064023
1920x1080 at 5.5" is only 400 DPI. 2560x1440 at 5.5" is 534 DPI. High quality print media has always been at least 600 DPI. And there's a reason for that, it's because there is a noticeable difference, especially for small print. Like you would find on a phone.
>>
>>61064399
Who are you trying to convince, me or yourself?. Once you go from 1080p to 1440p you start experiencing diminishing returns. My friend with an s7 edge thought the robin had a 1440p display, pixel density on a phone means fuck all from a foot away.

the fact it doesnt exist

they're only selling a 299 version

also literally nothing on that phone is better than my Blu Life XL LTE

its 0.5 larger, has gorrilia glass, dont care about the camera shit cause im not a IG fag

has stock android 5.1.1 plus Opera

and removable battery, dual sim and micro sd

and its the qualcomm 2 gig version, NOT the mediakek version which is only on the 1 gig version

my internal storage is never more than half with all the additional apps i have installed and my RAM usage is never over 50%

so getting an additional gig of ram is pointless

if that phone was actually 130 i might think about it but having to buy a bunch of USB-C cords or converter tips to carry around would be fucking annoying

also going back down another 0.5 inch isnt that great either

i wouldnt go larger, 5,5 is as large as i need

also its 0.5 smaller

I haven't had a phone in 10 years and now that I'm not poor anymore I need one. I'm really confused about anything that's made nowadays, and I suppose I'd just need something nice, durable, somewhat simple, but on which I could still browse internet in bed if needed.

Any ideas?

I prefer 1080 or 720 myself for even the biggest phones, but I will say that there IS a specific use case where the bump to 1440p would be noticeable and maybe even desirable, and that's phone VR. You might not care for or about it, but a small number of people do and those can benefit from the better display.

At the cost of battery life, of course.

Mah nigga. Hands down the best phone I've ever owned. Upgraded to Marshmallow when it came out and I swear it made the phone work better than the stock KitKat it came with originally.

I switched to a Moto X Pure (2015) for no particularly good reason, and I seriously seriously regret it.

That's a confusing nomenclature wtf my bad I didn't actually research the Snapdragon numbers, I assumed that they were progressively increasing...
Still,the shit doesn't have band 12.
>>
>>61080947
It's not actually that confusing once you look into it, the first number tells where the SoC sits in Qualcomm's product hierarchy, the last two numbers are progressively increasing

200-series SoC: ultra low budget
400-series SoC: budget
600-series SoC: midrange
800-series SoC: flagship

Just like Intel has i3, i5, i7 and i9.

>>61062766
NFC just initiates a Bluetooth transfer
>>
>>61081279
Oh i get it now, but would a 625 be more powerful than an 808?
>>
>>61082888
Within a series the bigger number always means higher performance, so just by looking at the name you know a SD821 has higher performance than a SD805 for example.

There's no way to tell by just looking at the number if you compare SoCs from different series though, you have to look at benchmarks. SD625 is slightly less powerful than the SD808, but for example the SD650 has better performance than the SD808. The SD660 SoC that's coming out later this year will be around SD820/821 in performance.

Honestly I was more excited about it because it was better than my locked-down-to-shit galaxy s5 and would run Lineage OS/Cyanogenmod. My GS5 will do 5hr+ OST and I don't want to be tied to a charger at any point during the day.

P.S. Fuck AT&T REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>
>>61084611
That's what killed it for me, they advertise it like it's got a small screen but it really doesn't. I'm sick of 5"+ phone's being the norm.
>>61084793
I only usually have to charge it once a day under normal usage and maybe three times if I'm watching videos all day at home, which ought not be a big issue if you've got home internet.
It's three hours of SOT BTW, not standby, nothing crazy like that, in fact it has pretty phenomenal standby endurance.
I'd still recommend it for the value you get, but if you absolutely need longer screen on time, definitely go elsewhere.

That's the bitch of it - between shitposting and playing the jukebox at the bar, I can chew thru 3+hr OST after 6pm, even if I left the house with 100% charge.

Doesn't look like anybody makes a charge case or extended batt for it. External batt chargers do exist and I've been considering adding one of the small single 18650-size chargers to my EDC for atheist flute or phone needs anyway. hmmm...Maybe it's not a foregone conclusion.

Got my ether when it was 150. It's happily running LineageOS now, not too shabby with the 808. Don't really care for their cloud thing or whatever. For the price it's a nice burner phone you don't feel too bad should you break/lose it.

>>61052488
>average at best, but great for a sub $100 phone
sub $100 kind of plants you into refurbished territory for anything else

>>61063603
There's no competition between the 801 and the 808 SoC, especially when it comes to power consumption and heat. You are talking way over your head that you don't even realize it.
