It doesn't. I have problems with network card driver on my machine. Because of it, whole system stutters every so often. Searched for a solutions, found only dozens of other people who had the same problem. The only real solution I found was "disable the integrated card and buy an dedicated one".

the only reason Redmond would hide the source is if there are backdoors in drivers, the wifi stack, the kernel itself, or anywhere else.
