You know those outlet timers, where you can set it so the appliance turns on at 4pm and off at 6:30pm or whatever? Do they make them for this type of outlet?
I just moved into a new place that does not have central AC. It does have a shitty window unit though. Since the window unit is shitty and since it's in the living room not my bedroom, I want it to turn on a couple of hours before I get home from work, so my bedroom can be below 80 when I go to sleep. Landlord was too cheap to spring for an AC unit with a built in timer, so I want to get one of those plug-in timers.

Except it's that outlet that looks like a chubby Asian guy with Downs Syndrome (pic-related). I've looked around and the only timers I can find are for normie plugs. I'm pretty sure this type of plug means the voltage is different too, so I'm guessing a simple plug converter would be out of the question since the AC unit would overload the 125V plugin timer.

So, does anybody have any idea where I could find an electrical timer for pic-related?

Replace the outlet.

its a 250v outlet best not to change that and end up frying something 120v by accident.

It's a NEMA 6-20 240v plug they make timers for those. you would fry a 120v timer if you attempted to use it

He can get 120 from one of the hots and neutral. As long as there's an equipment ground wiring a regular outlet would be simple.
