IT'S NOT STOPPING
KRZANICH'S SUFFERING IS NOT STOPPING
I don't want either to die, but to keep fighting each other.
>>61029543
I agree, but you can't reason with faggots.
In before Goldman issues a 13 dollar valuation and deflates the stock again.
>>61029521
I hope their stupid rebuttal response to AMD's Epyc launch caused their stock to drop even further.
>>61029543
How about a 50/50 split in marketshare, and capital, that has AMD and Intel see-sawing back and forth between 60-40?
>>61029582
>x-x-xxe-exeon is TESTED and PROVEN to w-w-w-work...
>s-s-soorry for the stutter, i'm ru-running on INtel...
>>61029588
You know AMD with actual R&D would main Intel with exclusivity deals on top of better silicon, and on top of that has full stack GPU support.
This is why it won't happen, the gubbimment won't allow it
>>61029521
n-noo!! this can't be happening
It gets better.
Wait a few minutes while I get the links.
>>61030040
Where's the links faggot, you said there would be links.
>>61030635
Oh yeah I forgot.
sisoft sandra has ranking update, top end Platinum Xeon 205W vs top end EPYC at 180W.

Epyc has 25% higher memory bandwidth
Intel is 8% faster in arithmetic.
The Xeon is overclocked though, and AMD is clearly lower TDP.
>>61030732
Isn't that thing going to cost $12,000? Bean counters are going to flip their shit if someone even suggests paying 3x as much for 8% performance and worse TDP.
>>61030792
It's only useful if you got for more than 2 sockets, otherwise not really a option.
>>61030792
>Bean counters are going to flip their shit if someone even suggests paying 3x as much for 8% performance and worse TDP and 30% less DIMM capacity and 140% less I/O
Suddenly Xeons don't look all that hot
Suddenly the papers changed
>>61031006
>colors are reversed
I might wanna buy some Intel...
But I am already invested in Nvidia and AMD.
I can't triple dip like that can I?
>>61031128
Why not, if one of them is going down the other is probably going up.

What the fuck? Intel what the fug.

>>61030732
If Intel's "TDP" is anywhere close to Skylake-X TDP, it's gonna be a lot fucking more than 205W
>>61033281
Bingo, there's power use here, just slightly under 500W for the dual Xeon system.
AMD doesn't have power reporting on sisoft, but we got another source with the same processors on servethehome, 2xEPYC hit around 470 watts.
Thing is, STH was running GROMACS, which is AVX, sisoft arythetmic is not SIMD

The server fans are going to be so loud, you'll need hearing protection just to walk into the room.
>>61033327
Nothing really unusual
>>61033317
Seems AMD has gotten a really efficient beast here, I personally can't wait for 7nm, that's where the real show starts.
Targeting 5GHz operation and .10V lower drive voltage than 14nm, that's fucking insane.
I wouldn't be surprised to see 48 core CPUs clocked over 3.5GHz
