Dedicated Win7 machine with ImgBurn and a nice LiteON burner, along EAC and another Win only programs
I don't really burn anymore, only the rare CDRW for OSes and programs for old machines, quality CDRs are so rare I haven't been able to find a provider in 2 or 3 years
Also, my drive it's dying and the new Pioneer BD burners aren't nowhere close to the LiteONs of yore

Music in the car
Old console games
Installing operating systems on old computers
cdrecord or wodim
#make-iso-of-cd
dd if=/dev/cdrom of=cd.iso
#make-iso-of-directory
mkisofs -o /tmp/cd.iso /home/user/directory
#mount-an-iso
mkdir /mnt/iso
mount -o loop -t iso9660 filename.iso /mnt/iso
I burn with EAC because of offset correction.

This is destructive, don't do this. It will overwrite your hard disk

Because I've yet to buy a device that I can hook up my mp3 player in my car.
Also, BD-Rs for long-term storage unless you can point me to something cheaper. (1250 GB for $30)

no it won't, as /dev/null is write-only
Imgburn is the one that always works for me when burning isos for early 90s cd game consoles. None of my my machines have had trouble reading discs burned with it.
