Made a thread earlier today with not much luck
I have a Dell XPS 15 9550
Akitio Node
Gigabyte GTX 1080
i've updated all drivers and such, disabled internal GPU but i'm not getting much performance gain. Running Heaven i got an average 55fps @ 1080 ultra. Not sure what the problem is. Any help here /g/uys?
>no CPU is not throttling
>yes i'm using an external display
but even my friend with the exact same setup using the internal display is getting way better performance
apologies for the picture. posting through my phone
In all honesty I think you janked your voltages and clocks
It's not impossible the card degraded and simply does not like your old clocks
You can't simply OC a $700 card like it's a toy

Sorry man, I noticed the clock @1936 and wanted to share
>he fell for the eGPU meme
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
why are eGPU enclosures so expensive when all it is is a power supply and some folded sheet metal? I really want to buy one but theres no way they are worth more than $100.

I see your problem:
buying an eGPU
>>61017586
even with stock clocks it never put out what i seemed to be the right performance. in precisionx i have it +125 which doesn't seem crazy to me

It's basically the Thunderbolt3 and PCI-E you're paying for. About $250 makes sense. The PSU should be on your own tab.
>>61017632
I'm telling you you can not simply overclock a GPU like it's a toy. You will fry your shit in no time
Dig into some information and learn voltages
Just go to overclock.net they have a thread for everything

I don't think that makes sense at all. If it did motherboards would all be $300 minimum. Furthermore if you have to bring your own PSU as well then current prices are beyond unjustified and these things should be $30 max.

There's a lot $$$ behind Thundarbawlt because of Apptell
I guarantee it's loyalties

>1080
>eGPU
Nigga u drunk
>>61017740
problem?
>>61018580
Yes. You can't fully utilize a 1080 on a egpu setup, it's just too slow for it. Also that CPU bottleneck
>>61018986
CPU doesn't throttle the card. also i was fine with the 80-90% max usage people have reported
