Is this SSHD meme still a meme or are they actually worth it now?

They were never worth it and never will be.

So it's back to my original idea of SSD + HDD. Alright.
>>61016314
Yes you could glue a 32gb SSD to a 1tb HD and it would be cheaper and more functional than a SSHD
They're pointless and designed for idiots that don't know what they are.

Pretty much this, desu. IIRC, Seagate's SSHDs all use only an 8GB solid state cache. Using a separate drive, you can create your own cache drive that will perform much better. The only time I'd even remotely consider it is in a laptop where drive bays are limited.

Great for laptops you want to upgrade cheaply. My old gaming laptop had a raid 0 and I installed 2 of these in there and it brought load times down reasonably.

Yes.
>hurr we put a 8 gb ssd in the drive to speed up your most used data
>most used data: the fucking os
>size of the os: 60 gb (thanks wangblows!)
wow, it loads 2 seconds faster! :)))
