It is for the same reason as the improved latency. The reason is usb requires continuous polling of the keyboard from the host to detect a keypress, whereas in ps/2 the microcontroller in the keyboard just blasts out the keycode in serial immediately.

Maybe you should get a better keyboard. The only reason 1, 2, 5, 6, w, and y weren't registered is because it's really hard to keep that many keys pressed at once. I had two hands pressed flat against the middle of the keyboard, and a few that didn't get a lot of direct pressure were flickering on and off with my small movements as I moved in to hit the print screen key with my nose. :^)

Bought a mechanical keyboard used the spftware for keyboard plus the asus suite shitware. Overnight all usb ports where unresponsive. Got my 13 year old M$ keyboard stored, it uses PS/2. Managed to uninstall both softwares. Reboot, usb ports are back to normal. I am glad I don't like to throw old hardware away.
