Why wouldn't you get a pi3 for retrogaming for a few dollars more, then you'd probably use it. I mean I can see for some projects only needing a pi or a pi2, but for emulation I'd go with the pi3. I'm running retro pie emulation station on a pi3 and the arcade roms run great on it.

I found initially I didn't use it, then I downloaded a bunch of c64 and atari 2600 roms from my youth and I was using it more and more as time passed, then when I downloaded arcade game roms I was sold. Only thing I'm stuck on is finding a good all around gamepad to use for c64 2600 and arcade roms.
