Redpill or bluepill me on the whole AR glasses in 2020 meme. Why would people who dont need glasses all of a sudden want to wear them and live in some kind of Ghost in the Shell invasive advertisement dystopia? Are they too stupid to live as is?

We already live in an invasive advertisement dystopia but I doubt I would go for a full time AR overlay and I already wear glasses.

>invasive advertisement dystopia
what?
I have perfect vision, but have to wear safety glasses at work. I could see it somehow being implemented into that to being useful, hell even being able to read my messages/emails without taking my phone out of my pocket would be nice, since I have to wear the glasses anyways.
However, if they look anything at all like op's pic, there's no way in fuck I would ever use them no matter how practical and useful they are. I think a contact lens HUD of sorts would be better, but I dont even want to guess at how far away we are from that
Because I have dreamt of being able to have AR since I was a child. Next in line is being able to talk to people with my thoughts either by cable GitS style or AR overlay.
