If you're there only for the video HOSTING, meaning you have some videos that you want to make publicly available on the interbutts, sure, vimeo and dailymotion are good.
If you want video hosting as in content discovery and consumption, either as a watcher or as a producer, you're shit out of luck. Any other platform except Youtube is generally a bad joke.
