Why is Mozilla Firefox such a piece of shit?

Literally:
1. Eats up too much rap, even with tab suspending extensions.
2. When you have it open, it won't let MacBook Pro sleep.
3. Literal bloatware even at version 59 or whatever it's at.

What the fuck is wrong with Mozilla?
>>
1. Unused RAM is wasted RAM

2. GNU/Linux doesn't have this problem

3. Your mom is a bloatware

Reminder that firefox is the only good FOSS browser.

ff 54 is comfy. i set mine manually to 4 threads so maybe thats why.
>>

Doesn't have this problem on W7 either, using it at work.

I miss when Firefox was Netscape was Mosaic...

lmao u dumb fucks
>>

Because they're killing all the good addons and wont implement API's so they can be ported.

I liked firefox because I could customize it as much as I want. Now I have to fuck around with omni.ja file that get overwritten with every update.
Also webextensions are fucking trash.
>>
>>60989480

MEGA, uBlock Origin, Video DownloadHelper, NoScript. All work fine. What other than uBlock Origin do you even need?

i was toggling flash off/on for watching streams. the shit uses like 15% of my cpu wtf.

Has anyone tried Coc Coc? I don't know if gook browsers are any good. Cock Cock is a nice name though.
>>
The new YouTube design loads instantly on Chrome, but takes 5-10 seconds before drawing on Firefox. For those 5-10 seconds, you only see the video and the other elements don't begin to draw until after.
>>
>>60989064

ThinkPad doesn't have this problem
>>
>>60989638
All irrelevant for 99% of users.
>>
>>60989915
That's a fault of Flash and the websites using it, not Firefox. Watch html5 streams instead.

cant block html5 ads. u can block flash ones.

Never been there. Could you post an example link? Flash player is a huge security hole, it may be worth seeing ads instead.
>>
>>60990411
just goto any top streamer and use the html5 video. theyll play ads in between games or whatever.
>>
>>60990411
actually was testing more stuff. even the html5 player uses like 40% cpu. but if i lower it to 720p quality it goes to about 30%.

Alright, so let's turn EVERYTHING into an electron app, then?
>>
>>60990387
>theyre some new kind on twitch that cant be blocked
There's nothing stopping them from injecting ads into the stream.
You can't block that. I'm surprised they didn't do that earlier.

FF57 is scheduled to release in ~9 months. Versioning on nightly doesn't mean anything.

This

The reason Firefox takes more RAM now in the recent version is due to the multi-process architecture (Electrolysis)

You should be concerned with CPU usage rather than RAM... RAM is not an issue anymore.

Do you also complain why modern games take up so much space? No, because you're 12 years old and can clearly see why games take more space, but not "normal programs"

I just came back to Firefox yesterday. The feeling of FREEDOMZ is really good, and also, I like the extensions more. Haven't noticed big improvements with the multi-process yet.

Was experimenting with Nik's Chromium for some time.
It's quite good, it IS faster than Firefox, no doubts about it, but:
1. looks like shit and customization is even shittier
2. it phones home to Google, always have and always will.

But overall, there two are the best options today. Brave on desktop is too crude yet.
