Why does only openSUSE include Firefox with thumbnail preview in the file picker?
>>60987684
They patch Firefox to better integrate with KDE
The default GTK file picker sucks
>>60987684
Isn't that dolphin? If you use any system with kde by default, you will have that file picker.
>>60987763
this is not true. firefox doesn't use the KDE file picker unless you take extraordinary measures to patch it
Because Suse actually cares about its KDE setup instead of running everything stock.
>>60987763
That's not dolphin. filepicker and filemanager are two completely separate programs in the technical term. It may use duplicated code to display the same sidebar but that's about it.
Also, openSUSE patched firefox is buggy as fuck and you can sometimes not save specific files properly because of unicode fuckery.

Why doesn't anyone else care except for SUSE? I mean other distros have way more devs and money thrown at them.
>>60990966
Because they'd rather take whatever Mozilla shoves up their assholes instead of patching it by themselves like the superior German developers at openSUSE.
There are requests as old as you for Mozilla to be compatible with KDE, but they are more interested in using their donation money to fund code camps in the middle of Africa, invest in useless crap nobody is gonna use while removing the few features that only Firefox have, or finance rallies against Trump.
