LMMS is pretty baller for being completely free. I must confess however, I ended up spending a few shekels to purchase a copy of Renoise because I love old school trackers, and I also like controlling the entire DAW with my keyboard instead of a mouse, and programming midi note data in hexidecimal, and I have no regrets.
