How long untill iPhone users need to have an android phone for actual usage besides their Apple fashion accessory

>>60979154
iOS 11 is introducing some basic NFC support. I think it's only for reading tags, but baby steps. 11.something or 12 will probably provide Android-tier NFC.
>>
>>60979239
>the botnet now knows
>now
they track your location 24/7 already
>>
In my country, in my region there is a union of public transport - they recently released some nfc/rfid cards and NO APP. in a fucking 2017 with cards emulation available on android there is no app. Not even an app for checking your balance.

:-------DDD
>>

yeah but they can't know if you're walking over the station or if you're at the station just by GPS ;^)

I would estimate more than 50% of people on public transportation during rush hours in the Netherlands use an iPhone.

For starters everyone has a job, else they wouldn't be using public transport during rush hours.

Did I already mention the fact that Apple paired with Suica which meant that basically overnight you could use your iPhone (or iWatch) at practically any JR station, some non-JR lines, JR buses, most convenience stores, most McDonalds, Suica enabled vending machines and anywhere else that accepts Suica?

That's the problem.

Apple wants to monopolize payments through iPhones.
That's why Apple banned this Dutch public transport app, which they see as a competitor for Apple Pay.

>>

Yes if you buy a brand new Dodge, Ford or Honda that will lose over 50% of it's value in two years. My bmw m3 which I've had for two years barely lost any value in comparison. Buying pleb cars is for fucking idiots.
>>
>>60981012

One more reason why so many people use public transport or cycle to work.

No he's talking out of his ass.

The iPhone hardware and OS are perfectly capable.
Apple just doesn't allow 3rd party payment systems in the App store.
If they want to bring this to the iPhone they will have to use Apple Pay, and probably charge the travelers something like 20 cents extra for every journey.

NFCKit was just released for iOS. Only supports iPhone 7 and 7+ while in beta. Can theoretically be rolled out to iPhone 6/6s/SE and Apple Watches.

So far the code only allows for reading tags though. But they should be rolling out writing data ("sending/emulating a tag") over NFC eventually. Apple are just very reluctant because security is paramount. You can be a complete and utter lagdroid microcuck faggot and hate on Apple, but they take security and user privacy far more seriously than most other companies. Probably all companies in their verticals.

>flyover detected

In europe you can take your car to the city all you want, but all you'll do is drive because you sure as fuck aren't going to park it. That is the entire issue of European cities, since we don't have giant ghetto areas that are empty and full of free parking in our cities, when you are able to find parking, it will be a good distance from where you need to be and will be forced to take transportation anyway, so you are just better off taking transportation.

I pay 60 bucks a month and have all transportation in the city available to me, buses, subway, trams, boats, train, unlimited trips all day and all night, why the fuck would i bring my car into town spend more than that amount in gasoline and parking or spend a hour look for parking.
>>
>>60979504
Land in the Netherlands is to damn expensive to park a car on it. Parking fees per hour are 30% of the average hourly wage here.

Even if you can (or want) afford to park a car you cannot park it any were near the place you need to be. You'll need a secondary means of transport if you want to use a car (lol). Why even bother? Just use public transport or get a bicycle if it's 10 miles or so.

public transport, and thus trains have to find an optimum in price, punctuality, capacity, frequency, speed, availability and resilience to errors.
There will always be countries where one of these factors is better than in the Netherlands. There are however very few countries where they all score better. (Japan and Switzerland can be considered).
If you'd want any of the factors mentioned to be improved, realize that other factors will suffer. Yet still, this can be a good thing.

>>60989172
I wouldn't be so sure. Apple want to keep the phone itself sacred, but there is nothing stopping them from putting NFC chips into their watches or other phone-accessory items that can connect with the phone via bluetooth.

Still seems stupid to not have native NFC support, but that comes with territory of not having a working file-explorer on the phones themselves.
Still yanking that pro-copyright cloud-based non-filesharing policy hardon of theirs because by god if they can be pinned for permitting people to share songs to one another without each person paying for it then the whoooole world ends doesn't it.

Let em burn, not to mention thee consumers who support that corporation.

Of course not, but it's one way. Probably the easiest way because you need to get to work daily anyways.

>burgers jelly of our amazing bike roads
it's great, I don't have to rely on polluting technology, don't have to deal with traffic jams, have much more freedom when commuting, breathe in fresh air instead of being stuck in a tin can and get some nice exercise for free.
I'm 27 and don't even have a driver's license because I just don't need a car.
Really.

I think he means ancillary costs such as servicing, fluids, insurance, registration...AND then gas... all that jazz.

60x12 is only 720. If you're spending more than that a year on your car then it is cheaper to take public transport.
>>
>>60992090

In the Netherlands you pay € 75 for a full tank of gas. € 60 pm is extremely cheap for transportation here.

I bought it used. It has only lost a couple thousand in value in the two years. If I bought a new Ford focus or something similar it would have went from like 25k to being worth 8k in that same two years.
>>60992772
The Lincoln is mainly used in the winter. Used Lincoln navigators are a great deal, you get a luxury suv interior but with a Ford engine so if anything does break it's cheap to fix. I'm probably gonna sell it soon cause I want to get a 04ish 996 Porsche 911 and get a old grand Cherokee as my winter beater.
>>
>>60993531
Parking is a big fucking deal in any major urban area. Which is why public transportation makes sense in these areas.

If you can't see that then it's because you live in flyover(anywhere USA that isn't east coast or west coast) where parking isn't a big deal because you do not have the population density for it to be a problem and if you can't understand parking as a problem you have never been to a busy ever growing urban area like New York, D.C., San Francisco, London, Paris. This is why people rather take public transportation, bike or walk, most people who commute to these urban areas also can't afford to live there that's why they commute to begin with.

This is complete bullshit.
Fine particles from "natural" sources like chicken farms are just as deadly.

It is a serious problem though.
People in Amsterdam live on average 2 years shorter than average for the Netherlands.

And if I were dictator of Amsterdam I would close the nearby coal plant, ban all diesel tour boats, low the speed limit on the A10, and limit the typos of vehicles that may enter Amsterdam.

Tourists talk into traffic all the time.
We avoid most of them but can't avoid all of them all the time.

There is often no room to swerve around them.
And if you do swerve they sometimes jump right in front of you a second time.

Just stick to the sidewalks until you've learned how traffic works in a busy city, Americans.
>>
>>60992609

>forced to shell out actual money to park your car in a public place

how to trigger someone with an interest on public policy, the post

listen here you americunt little shit, there is no such thing as the right to park, you don't seem to understand what the fuck "public" means. You don't have the right to park your car anywhere except your own fucking property.

Wanna parallel park it on the side of the road, you're impeding other peoples use of that public space, because that's what it means, you're not entitled to it more than others because you bought a niggermobile. You will pay for your use of that space. If everyone drove and parked their car in the city, you wouldn't be able to fucking drive. they call it mass transit for a god damn reason.
