It is, but I anticipate playing 1080p 60fps. I currently get about 50fps on Overwatch on low, aiming to get 60fps on Overwatch on high or ultra.

I'm building out a ryzen/1080ti build for 144hz 1440p gaming. I plan on keeping the current old bucket with its monitor for the GF so she can game with me and I'm trying to figure out if the upgrades chosen are worth it. The ram is insanely priced IMO. Are you suggesting I'll get to my goal?

With a 1060 you should be well over 60fps

The CPU is old, almost as old as a q6600.

I was looking for a thread like this.

I just want high/ultra at 1080p/60fps.

I currently have:

- AMD A10 6800k @ 4.4 GHz
- EVGA GTX 750 ti
- 8GB DDR3

I was hoping to get away with just a GPU upgrade, because of the hassle that is upgrading a motherboard and CPU. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

OP here, your CPU is better than mine and they're telling me I'll get 1080p/60fps no problem. I went with 1060 6gb since the 480 is hard to find and the price seems to be inflating.

8gb ram is low, but I would hold out if you ever anticipate replacing the mobo/cpu. If so at that time get a ryzen and get to DDR4. Prices will be dropping on current gen CPUs once the next wave of Ryzen comes out

Alright, thanks. I probably won't be able to upgrade to a new GPU for a while now, but it's nice to know my CPU isn't a big bottleneck right now.
