Anyone have a list of CPUs that support Windows 7?
I want to look up "Intel Core i7 7700HQ" and see if Windows 7 works on it.
I've read that some newer CPUs are being built with a hard-coded disable for Windows 7, not because it can't actually run it, but because Microsoft pays them to do it (force people over to Windows 10).
Anybody have a list?
Just read this:

Seems like Windows 7 works and updates fine on new CPUs but just stops updating after a certain patch (mentioned in the link above). Anybody know if this is true?
Found this via a news article:

It is supposed to disable Microsoft's CPU check so that Windows 7 will keep updating just fine. Anybody here that have tried it?

If you're getting a new laptop, check also to see if it still natively supports USB 2.0 or the Win7 installer will run into issues.
PXE installation works fine though, use Serva64 for easymode.

Just get a ryzen and add the appropriate usb3 drivers to your windows 7 installer.

Tried this before, it doesn't work. PXE method more reliable.
