Pretty much this
speedrunners use them

A PC CRT? For instant response time in games that benefit from that.
A TV CRT? Play retro games with scanlines and the weird resolutions some games play at.
Both edge cases as of today. They're fun looking, though.

If your a fps or "E-Sports" gaymer then yeah, they have really low input lag, but if you use your computer for real work then now.
Their only purpose is
>no input lag
>properly displaying standard definition content
Yes. Superior in all aspects to a flat screen. If you think it's heavy, then you haven't been lifting.

If you can find one that works then yeah.

I remember happily carrying crts up and down stairs just to lan with friends. Now people complain about the weight when they're only moving it to a desk, and leaving it there for one time.
don't some CRTs have stupidly high refresh rates.

My cheap as fuck CRT can go as high as 100hz
>>60961328
It depends. Do you emulate a lot of /vr/?
If the answer is yes, you need some kind of CRT Otherwise, no.

I've got one that can sync at 200Hz, but IIRC you can't even get 800x600 resolution there

Unless you have top tier CRT like Sony Trinitron or just having some legacy pc laying around (and you retro gaymen on regular basis), no.
Sure CRT didn't lag (because it's mostly analog signal), but then again new LED display didn't lag that much as well

The high-end ones look better than any LCD-LED in existence, it can also display perfect blacks.
CRTs are only matched/surpassed by OLED
