Can confirm, have Mongo and Cassandra databases at work: almost constantly have issues. Oracle DB's and Postgre: work great with same or greater workload on older hardware.

Why not just use Excel? Or Access if you have very large quantities of data.
MongoDB is fucking amazing for prototyping. Just toss shit in there and it works. It's especially good if you don't know what your data structure looks like yet and you're building ahead of whatever will be coming upstream.
It's great for Flask apps.
