OP, optane is literally useless for consumers. It's slower than DRAM, more expensive than a solid state per GB and it takes up an M.2 slot, which most motherboards don't have more than one of, if that. The only use for optane is the PCIe cards that can be used in workstations and servers to add to system RAM when the system is already maxed out for DRAM.
