The nvidia card had died. Total scandal.
I've been using the case (with components) for years. I decided to test if the system still works today for some reason. No video from the AGP GPU. Video from motherboards onboard instead. BIOS says Auto/AGP and the only alternative is PCI. Apparently this Nvidia card died while just sitting in a turned off computer disconnected from power and everything. TOTAL SCANDAL

You should probably post this on reddit
/r/ayymd will fall for this bait immediately, they will probably start a petition about it and contact their local congressman

>after 15 years the electrolyte in a capacitor dried out
who would have though

Yet all the caps on the motherboard have not. VIA is a more solid GPU manufactor.
From now on I'm only buying VIA GPUs and CPUs.

Would I post this here if I had a redshit account? I don't go there, not even when someone sends me links.
>card almost as old as OP doesn't work anymore
oh wow neat

>nvidia cards don't last
True. My 9800pro and X800XL both run fine but my 8800GTX died after just 4 years.

Well, it may very well be that the nvidia card is fine.
First I got no picture on the nvidia card, so I tried the motherboards VGA connector and I got the BIOS. I then unscrewed the nvidia card and went on to boot the system.
It went ahead and started loading GNU/Linux off the whopping 80 GB HDD and then I got a strange kernel panic. I rebooted and I got nothing. Now I only get some beep beep beep's when I turn it on.
I now declare this system dead. RIP. It had a good run.

kek
check the capacitors for bulging (in the psu too) and clean RAM contacts with ethanol, see if that helps
>>60939964
I unplugged the sound blaster live card and unlugged the RAM stick and cleaned the contact on it and it actually let me boot.
I can't say using this computer is a joy, it's kind of .. slow.
