Kinda?
It's a cost-saving measure that steals work from electricians and moves it to IT technicians.
If your house isn't wired badly, no.

Wow, sorry anon. I'm retarded. I read PoE.
>>60930015
actually the other way around
if you're house is wired with better/newer breakers, then with each breaker the signal passes through the bandwidth will significanly degrade. if the power line adapters are on the same breaker this is not an issue however,
older wiring works better with powerline adapters. but you still get some signal degredation anyway. with a gigabit powerline adapter this doesnt really matter. i have a powerline adapter that fluctuates between a shit and good signal all the time. typically between 20 to 80mb/s speeds. and this is coming from a pwerline adapter in my basement to the third floor of a home. it's definitely an easy solution but you are goin on a gamble if it works well for you.

Yeah, my parents spend $80/month on a 100Mbps connection. It's 125Mbps from the modem on speedtest or Steam. But EoP can't give me more than 50Mbps anywhere in the house. And somehow our Wi-Fi tops out at 35Mbps too.
What a waste.
is using one of these faster than wifi? mainly for gayming usage

depends on how far they are, how shit your houses wiring is, etc
jk wifi is shit it's better
