In general, were they glorified torrent search engines, scrappers for official streaming sites, front ends for ddl sites or what?
I mean, where did the content came from? P2P, server based piracy or directly from official sources?

Since sources appear and disappear constantly, and a lot of the servers are located in countries that don't enforce copyright laws or have any at all then it's nearly impossible to go after all the sources. As far as I understand TVaddons was just a large chunk of them.

Exodus didn't host anything themselves but since their add on was used to watch all the streams they got taken down and had to take down their repo.
