getting a free samsung galaxy express 3 (prime?) from AT&T today.
(gov. program for natives around here to spy on us)

free service and all that, but what I'm interested in is how to root this thing so I can use my own SD card on it and maybe take off all that shovel ware and such but my GOOGLE-FU is not so great as I've been out of the tech game awhile busy studying carpentry and now EX girlfriend giving me shit and always breaking my stuff so I never bought any tech for awhile

I've had great help from /g/ before and wondering if anybody is bored enough to search wtih me to see if they find any success stories.

I find it amazing we can root iphones so easily but gov phones are a hard nut to crack, I tried to crack a ZTE MAVEN 2 but that shit didn't go anywhere.
