The Firefox market share is getting close to zero, and instead of focusing on the audience that may still give a shit about it (power users, developers etc.), the SJWs in charge keep dumbing it down even more in hopes of attracting perky Britney and Ashleys with bubbly personalities.

We've already seen the result of this strategy in the past years. Why don't they just stop?

There is no point doing semver with browsers.
Their main purpose to browse the web has to stay backwards compatible for a long time.
So you'd have shit like 1.52.0.
How is that better?
>>
The Firefox™ project, from Mozilla© Corporation Inc. wants to "engage the least engaged"® in technology; non-whites, and non-males.

It's the opinion of Mozilla© Corporation Inc. that by "engage the least engaged"® we will capture the market segment of those people (non-whites, and non-males) who are least interested in technology, and are being oppressed by the over represented, patriarchal, "white, pale, male, stale, frail, fail" segment of the population that volunteer their time freely.

If this strategy backfires it will clearly be the result of social media attacks by "white, pale, male, stale, frail, fail" segment of the population.

Trying to get millennial SJWs to improve their software is like talking a man in a vegetative state from a mile away.

The women especially, they are very adverse to any criticism or suggestion that differs from what they've done already even things that are already on their roadmap. They'll respond with derision and contempt for even the most politely phrased criticism.

One cunt I had to work with broke down into tears over someone else having a different opinion and about what a good product would look like. The cunted badmouthed the woman later a ton and simply refused my suggestions to empathize with her side of the story, she had genuine concerns that most people would agree with but this manchild was too fucking emotionally stunted.

The most annoying one I remember is userscripts in GreaseMonkey being flat-out ignored. The thing that made me eventually go back to Firefox was more consistent flash playback. YouTube and other big sites worked fine, but sites with the crappier players were a gamble on Pale Moon for me.

And I know, flash should be dead by now, but many of us know the sites that still refuse to update.
>>
>>60920594
I've never had any issues with Greasemonkey. For me, flash was shit in vanilla firefox too, so on the rare occasion I need it, I just use chromium.
>>
>>60920622
Chromium & Chrome do have the best implementation of Flash at this point for sure. I use Chromium as a fallback if a site doesn't load right in any other browser. Firefox for everything else though because of very specific addons.

Mozilla shot themselves in the foot for not keeping up with the times while chrome was excelling. Personally, I stopped using Firefox after they updated it with some webcam client and other useless shit, while barely fixing performance. Mozilla also fucked up by proudly stating that they were going to refuse to have a Firefox app on iOS because of some drama with Apple; Which only made Chrome more appealing.

>Mozilla also fucked up by proudly stating that they were going to refuse to have a Firefox app on iOS because of some drama with Apple; Which only made Chrome more appealing.
Mozilla refused to support iOS because Apple refuses to allow browser engines aside from webkit. If Mozilla made a browser for iOS it would be a rebranded Safari (like Chrome). They actually eventually did make a browser for iOS though so that's all irrelevant now.

I wouldn't mind reader view as much if it wasn't a persistent part of the url bar on a lot of websites. It should be like any other button, put it in the toolbar. The current position is too close to the reload/stop button which makes it easy to slip up and click it by accident, especially on firefox mobile.

It was actually first posted here in a different thread.
Notice that the reddit post is a throwaway account.

Also I don't really use it so being able to remove it from the main interface would be nice.

Keybindings isn't even working right now properly because of limited webextensions.

Ubuntu is the only one doing it right.

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS means Ubuntu from 2016 and the 4th month, so april 16 it was released.

What? I've been using Opera for the last few months and it werks pretty well. They just added a built in dark theme for menu bar, which is pretty rad.

WAT?

Hmm... I guess that doesn't work with firefox-bin? It broke with firefox-bin-52, so I started compiling with USE=jack.
>>
>>60929182
USE flags don't affect prebuilt binaries, by definition

They thought it would be a good idea to fuse the settings in less categories, so now you spend most of the time scrolling in the settings.
Also you can't put an addon's button in the menu.
The "Forward" button is always visible, even when you can't go forward.
The Reload button is outside of the URL bar, and instead you have a menu to Bookmark, Send via Email, Copy URL, or Send to a Device.
>>
>>60929264
firefox-bin does have USE flags, just a lot less of them.
>>
>>60929095
Of course I'm ready. The current menu is horrible and I welcome this change.
As for the icons you added next to forward/back I don't care because I remove them all anyway.
>>
>>60929264
There's apulse which is enabled by a useflag for skype.

Silly question...
I still use the 53 build, what performance test can I use to check if the 54 is actually faster or if it is just a meme?

You need help if you think otherwise.
The new one looks like a proper normal menu.

I guess I am going to change eventually, I would just like to know what I could possible do to notice any improvements.

Firefox uses GTK as well retard.
>>
>>60929389
I don't know what's included in 54 because I'm using Nightly but there have definitely been some large improvements lately.
For example by 200 tabs session now takes 1 instead of 10 seconds to restore.

As long as you aren't using incompatible addons you should notice a difference in responsiveness as well.

>>60929801
Only in linux, and even then their own XUL toolkit is doing most of the job. Nor does it conform to GNOME3's retarded standards.
>>
>>60929892
Firefox is only using Gnome for its advanced file picker.

The new menu looks really good. I've hated the current menu since Mozilla decided to cram it in my face. One thing that really bothered me about it is how the menu icon doesn't even properly represent what the menu is. The icon shows a dropdown like the left but it's a bunch of ugly tiled icons instead
