Got a physics exam tomorrow, have found ways of working out 3.2 but they don't make sense to me. Anyone got any ideas?

The answer is apparently 10V, I can easily get there by ignoring the right hand side of the circuit. I don't know why I can however
If you can't solve this, you're boned. You should have payed attention in class.

Please explain why I just ignore the 12v supply then, I realise why 10v from the 10v supply goes to it with a 0 ohm variable resistor.
Use superposition

A level?

Don't you just use kirchoffs laws or some shit? I took physics years ago but I remember this being easy as shit. You just have to sum the current or some thing like that

Read up on Kirchhoff's voltage law

Cheers! yeh A level, didn't know you just work them out as separate circuits then combine them

r1 is shorted so it acts like a wire. if you think of the junction of r1,r2,r3 as a node, then it gets 10 volts directly on it through the short. Simple.
Use node voltage and/or current for simple circuits like this.

10V-I1R1-I3R3=0
I2R2+I3R3-12=0
I3=I2+I1
General KVL equations

Resistance is futile.

Brings back memories. Thanks anon.
