Let's talk CPU Overclocking.
Is there a reason to Overclock at all for gaming specifically? Would gaming see any noticeable performance increase from a CPU overclock on a processor that's a 6600K or higher? I'd assume it'd be noticeable on things like applications that involve editing, media, etc, right?
softh oc is ok y can increase performance in 20% no isues;
hard oc well if you are tinking in buy new pc and want to use actuall untill it burn

A performance increase on a cpu applies to any application which uses the cpu. Overclocking will increase performance on everything.
Always overclock. Even if you want to stay at stock voltage an extra .2ghz is worth it.

No

about to build a new pc, how well does i5 7600k generally OC? Have a 212 evo and got my old 3570k to 4.2 with it

>oc doesnt give a placebo efect in everyday tasks
Commit suicide ASAP

>OP asks about gaming

Depends on the game how much improvement you'd see. If you're playing CS:GO not much, but probably a fair bit with Kerbal Space Program. Most people with an interest in gaming will have a mobo with a light auto-OC feature. I just set that and forget. GPU overclocking generally much more important.

>gaymin its not an everyday task for OP
Jump from a cliff.

The retard that replied (you) obviously meant smaller, less cpu intensive tasks. Nobody can be stupid enough to believe overclocking doesnt give any performance increase in gaming.
>>60898854
>look at me, I gained 0,1% in performance, Im a hackur
look at the mirror, cut veins, profit for us, please.
>>60898984
>0.1% in performance
lol, also there is absolutely no reason not to overclock, and you only risk damage to your cpu if you go over 1.5 V on the core

>le harcorr gaymahr
depressing, go back

The new gen, later than 5xxx, Intel are hot as shit. I wouldnt over clock with anything under a d15

Please take some english lessons.

6600k @4.5 here, I noticed enough of a difference to run it that way 24/7. What you faggots forgot is your turbo is only one core, and if you OC, all cores will run faster.

Damn, you showed him dude, nice one!
