That's it for backstory, I know nothing about what I am doing.

>coworker gets a mail from a random address about a VAT invoice
>file attached

>she opens it and file is garbage

I know /g/ is not tech support and usual mumbo jumbo, but what's the possibility of macro viruses in 2017? How do I make sure her PC and network ain't infected?

>macros disabled
probably just a corrupted file, no need to worry
>macros enabled
reinstall
restore user data from backup
disable macros
