Redpill me on node.js for static web programming.

Is it just a big meme for college intern fags or is it actually useful?

What the fuck is static web programming?
>>
>>60894543
static pages that don't change
>>
>>60894473
of course it can do it as with the case with all frameworks, but Node.js is more useful for highly dynamic apps, PWA, SPA and its integration with fronted framework like React when you need server side rendering

So you mean like in making a server that just servers static files? No ajax, no sockets and no RESTful.

Yeah sure, node would do the job, but then again virtually everything would do that.
>>

if they never change, why would you program them with logic?

Well you could write it in some template and then build into HTML, could actually be kinda useful.
>>

For static pages you only need HTML and CSS.
A JS backend woudl not bring you any advantage here.

nginx is Russian

node.js is a tool so you can run JS locally and use it as a backend.
>>
why use node when you can use php...? can you open, read csv files and store the data in a db with node?
>>
node.js is single threaded and slow. Not great if your use case requires a lot of performance. But it's really easy to set up a server in node.js so if performance isn't that important (not a lot of site visits/not a lot of server side processing) then it's a reasonable choice.
