Howdy /g/ I just bought a dell 9100 of craigslist for 20 bucks. Is it worth going through all the hassle of modding 771 to 775 to slap a xeon in this bad boy?

Any advice with 1066 fsb Xeons would help as well.

Also Xeon thread in general?

Would it even work? The 9100 seems to have pentium 4 or D, either way, it most likely wont support Xeon with the motherboard. Did you check the forums to see if the motherbaord was compatible? Bios mod?

So ive looked on the delidded fourms and theve tested a Intel DG965SS board and it took a l5408. The motherboard in the dell ive got is a DG965MS with a Core 2 duo in it right now.

I just dont know if those last to letters being different will make a difference in compatibility.
