The main downside of the newer thinkpads are the soldered cpu's, so try to take one with an i7 if possible.
Besides that, it's a fantastic machine, with incredible battery. Wish i had money for one.

Pretty much this, but I believe the new keyboards (at least on the newer 12 inch) have less key travel. No clue about the T470 though.
That and some people hate the chiclet keyboard, which means nothing past xx30.
