Don't you want to be free anon?
Please note this is not the desktop thread and bullying owo posters is encouraged.
I use TrueOS myself so I am pretty free.
distinct lack of freedom respecting hardware. mod project in progress.

FreeBSD, NetBSD, and OpenBSD all include instructions for obtaining nonfree programs in their ports system. In addition, their kernels include nonfree firmware blobs.
Nonfree firmware programs used with Linux, the kernel, are called “blobs”, and that's how we use the term. In BSD parlance, the term “blob” means something else: a nonfree driver. OpenBSD and perhaps other BSD distributions (called “projects” by BSD developers) have the policy of not including those. That is the right policy, as regards drivers; but when the developers say these distributions “contain no blobs”, it causes a misunderstanding. They are not talking about firmware blobs.
No BSD distribution has policies against proprietary binary-only firmware that might be loaded even by free drivers.
non free.

I run a thinkpad x60 with libreboot (though I'm not using it currently)
>>60890232
Don't tell me what I do or don't do with my BSD you implicating fuck.
>>60890267
Distro's shouldn't endorse non-free software. If you want to download them you are doing no harm to anyone but yourself but promoting them is ethically wrong.
>>60890267
snek pls no
>>60890169
because im not a tin foil hat wearing basement dweller who thinks im so important the government reads every single one of my emails and knows what anime i like and which traps i jerk of to
>>60890326
Its only partially about that. What about freedom? Should you own the software you buy?
>>60890169
>Why aren't you using a 100% free as in freedom system?
I'm not a freetard. You're not using a 100% free system either, enjoy that closed source hardware.
>>60890347
I use a thinkpad x60 most of the time but technically if you can't change the bios It counts as hardware according to stallman.
>>60890361
An open source BIOS doesn't magically make your closed hardware open. You're still running free software on proprietary hardware.
>>60890374
Propietary hardware isn't an issue as you can't replicate a CPU at home or something like that. Free as in freedom software allows you to truly control your computer unless the hardware is very intrusive which mine isn't.
>>60890388
plus x60 is old enough that it doesn't have as much of the malicious design
>>60890410
Still not a free system no matter how you try to justify it.
>>60890414
If its good enough for stallman its good enough for me.
>>60890414
you know you're talking to multiple anons, right?
>>60890446
Thats my post. Am I a meme now?
>>60890437
Still not open hardware.
>>60890446
Where did I say I was only talking to one?
>>60890457
probably only in NSA documents
>>60890492
>implying they care about shitposts of 4chan
>>60890503
Of course not, anon
>>60890275
Ethically wrong why? Because you feel so?
>>60890169
owo?
>>60890414
>uses only free software
>somehow its not free
Tell us exactly how his free software don't respect his freedoms, anon.
>>60892337
I was talking about the hardware, you dumbass.
>>60890169
I am, but can't seem to be able to install Icecat on my librebooted C201 running Parabola.
