They won a few benchmarks, good luck finding AMD chips in OEM hardware however.

AMD is generally a lot of horsepower, dumb horsepower. Nvidia is much more efficient, but less. These sort of cancel eachother out, well, used to. Maybe vega will fix this.

Mining relies on a LOT of dumb tasks, what you need is raw horsepower, not efficient ones. Thus AMD.
