Firefox is going to include SJW-curated news on all new tab pages soon.

No thanks, I'll stick to Opera 12 till I can't use it. Even then, I've no interest in using a website as a browser.

I'll move to Vivaldi when they have syncing
I reinstall my OS too often to bother backing up that shit manually

Does Vivaldi sync bookmarks yet? No? Then fuck off with your not-ready-for-prime-time shit.

Hi, I've been using Vivaldi since it was beta, but not anymore. I'm getting so sick of you fucking shilling for Vivaldi every day that I just uninstalled it.

Not him, but if you use the Stylish add-on you can just make a new style for about:blank and set body's background color to black.
>>
>>60886575
You're not using a website as a browser.

I always thought that other Opera users or former Opera users were at least slightly above average, but you're so dumb that I'm forced to cast serious doubt on that assumption.
>>
vivaldi is sick i installed it off the recommendation of another anon yesterday and im satisfied so far!
>>
>>60886029
I love Vivaldi, but it really needs a fucking built in master password for its password manager. If they get that I'll move away from Firefox like I've wanted to for years now.
>>
>>60890075
>You're not using a website as a browser.
You're damned right I'm not using Vivaldi.
>I always thought that other Opera users or former Opera users were at least slightly above average, but you're so dumb that I'm forced to cast serious doubt on that assumption.
Vivaldi essentially is a website. The whole UI is JavaScript. What's that used for? Websites and websites masquerading as applications.
>>
>>60890179
Please learn what a website is, and then perhaps kill yourself if at all possible. Thank you.
You ignorance when it comes to technology, websites and browsers is so vast that you don't belong on this board at all. You should refer to a board more suitable for your demographic, such as /v/ or /b/. Or take that earlier suggestion.
>>
>>60890214
I know what a website is, you fucking moron. JavaScript is for websites, Vivaldi's UI is JavaScript. Therefore Vivaldi is essentially a website. I'm not saying it's the exact same thing as visiting google.com, but the same principal applies. It uses a browser engine (again, something for websites) to render the JS UI.
>>
>>60890273
No. You know what, I'm feeling generous. Let me see if I can direct a troglodyte like you to figure out a simple concept of "what makes a website".

Okay. Lets say I take your posts from this thread and put them in a HTML file with a little bit of CSS and javascript sprinkled in for fancy web 5.0 styling, then I put that HTML file on an USB thumb drive and throw it in a septic tank because I never wanna see them again.
Is what I have created and placed on the thumb drive a website? If your answer is no, can you figure out WHY it is not a website?

Incidentally if your answer is yes - that it is indeed a website, you're an idiot of biblical proportions and there is no way to redeem you to an adequate level of technological competency that your continued presence on /g/ is warranted.
>>
>>60886047
gross
>>
>>60890346
I'm not saying Vivaldi perfectly fits the definition of a website, you goddamned moron. I'm saying that a desktop application's UI shouldn't be handled by a fucking browser engine. I know Vivaldi isn't a website. It's pretty damned similar though. Certainly not how a browser should be. Now fuck off.
>>
>>60890366
Oh, what's that? It doesn't perfectly fit the definition of website? How about it doesn't even fit the only requirement of what constitutes a website? How about that?
There is a single requirement, which Vivaldi doesn't meet.

And someone as tech illiterate as you has no authority on how the UI of an application should be handled. You can't even figure out what makes a website a website. Which is why you're trying to worm your way around answering the simple question I presented you with.
>>
>>60890400
>How about it doesn't even fit the only requirement of what constitutes a website? How about that?
I never fucking said it did. Jesus Christ, you fucking autist, quit taking everything so literally. Go fuck a screen door, needle dick.
>>
>>60890421
Why won't you just admit that you're retarded and leave? It's not that hard. You're anonymous so I'm sure nobody will know.
>>
>>60890421
>JavaScript is for websites, Vivaldi's UI is JavaScript. Therefore Vivaldi is essentially a website.
>>
>>60889388
Sorry to bring bad news, but Cyberfox's practically dead soon.

https://8pecxstudios.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1756
>>
>>60890400
He's right you fucking open source apologist. You don't code your main app in Javascript.
>>
>>60890432
Because I'm not.

>>60890435
>essentially
As in not really, but pretty much. Which is correct.
>>
>>60890445
The UI isn't "main app", whatever that even means, Applefag.
>>60890449
Except it's not correct in any sense other than in your delusions. You're just trying to save face and pretend you have a rational reason for hating something which you don't even understand at a rudimentary level. I mean lets be honest here, it's pretty obvious that you don't know dick about things like the web or browsers and you just like to run your mouth pretending to be knowledgeable about technology by namedropping things like "javascript" as if it makes you an expert.

That might have worked fine on reddit, but it's not gonna fly today.
>>
>>60890479
>Except it's not correct in any sense other than in your delusions.
Oh no, some retard thinks I'm wrong. Bottom line is you don't use JavaScript for applications. If you do, I'm going to compare them to websites, because that's where JavaScript fucking belongs.
>>
>>60890490
Sorry anon, I'll use typescript instead
>>
>>60890490
Do you even know what "Application" means? Because a website can be, and more often than not is, an Application.
>>
>>60890513
Eat a dick

>>60890521
I'm talking about desktop applications.
>>
>>60890479
I bet you don't even know how to gracefully exit a thread in C.
>>
>>60890525
Okay, but do you know what a desktop is? Because it sure as fuck sounds like you don't.

What's the point of being so ignorant anyway? It's not like there is any advantage in not understanding shit.
>>60890539
How is that relevant to this conversation?
>>
>>60890556
Of fucking course I know what a desktop is.
>>
>>60890563
Ok, but then act like it. Also, start calling a spade a spade. Vivaldi isn't a website. Essentially or otherwise. It's a web browser, with an UI that you don't like.
>>
>>60890580
It's essentially a website.
>>
>>60890632
If you want to keep being wrong, be my guest but do it on a board more suitable for your level of competency like /b/.
>>
>>60890556
Write me some code where you close a working thread in Javascript without exiting your main application.
>>
>>60890660
Write it yourself. I'm not your bitch.
>>

>>
>>60886029
>implying there's people still using Firefox
>>
>>60890668
Oh, so you admit your defeat so easily? I was not surprised.
>>
>>60890658
>maybe if I repeat it enough I'll be right
>>
>>60886029
Way ahead of you
>>
>>60890685
Maybe you shouldn't ask random strangers to write things for you, dunce. If you can't figure it out, google is there for you. If it can't be done, tough shit, pick a better language for your purposes.
>>
>>60890700
So you admit JS is a shit language to write applications in?
>>
>>60890685
Oh, I'm sure he's real sorry that he won't do for free what most people get paid for. Fuck off.
>>
>>60890716
Can you tone down your retardation a little? It's not that hard to read English on grade school level.

I will deconstruct my post so that maybe someone as illiterate as you can understand it too:
>Maybe you shouldn't ask random strangers to write things for you, dunce.
In this section I am calling you retarded because you rely on other people to do all the work for you and have no skills of your own at all.
> If you can't figure it out, google is there for you.
In this section I suggest to you a method of obtaining knowledge for completelyfree. Google.
>If it can't be done, tough shit, pick a better language for your purposes.
In this section I suggest that if you're trying to solve a problem that is impossible, impractical or just plain difficult to solve in the language of your choice, then you should switch to a language where solving that problem is less difficult.

Ever heard of the saying "right tool for the job"?
I understand that you're stupid and frustrated, but it's not that big a deal. Live and learn.
>>
Run an apache server on local host, steal a piece of crap template html site, decorate it with anime grils or whatever, set the new tab to load that page instead of this new crap page.
>>
>>60890758
>Ever heard of the saying "right tool for the job"?
Vivaldi devs never heard of this saying.
>>
>>60890787
Fucking this
>>
>>60890787
How's that? They made the UI in fucking javascript. You couldn't pick a better tool. Shit's so easy to style.
>>
>>60890801
>They made the UI in fucking javascript
Exactly. JavaScript is for websites.
>>
>>60890811
No, actually Javascript is for browsers. Because that's something they can parse without plugins. You feed it to browser and it parses it.
>>
>>60890821
JavaScript is for websites.
>>
>>60890490
by your logic twitter isn't a website but a script because it's written in python, you retarded nigger.
>>
>>60890692
Are things written for node.js essentially websites?
>>
>>60890833
I never said Python can't be used for websites. I said JavaScript is solely for websites.

>>60890843
Yes.
>>
>>60889066
Vivaldi could always pull a tab into a new window.

I don't know about resource heavy, but generally running 360 4k HTML5 video on firefox ground it to a halt, but I only have minor lag on chrome and vivaldi so that. I feel vivaldi is also easier on ram than firefox and chrome, but only because of the lighter UI renderer.
>>
>>60886029
No thanks. Shitvaldi is closed source.
>>
>>60890843
They're crap at least.
>>
>>60890852
Javascript isn't solely for anything. You can use it for local applications.
