Lol, isn't threadripper in late July? What a shitshow Intel

Watch mother board makers still prioritize X299 over X399 production and we have a Thread Ripper mother board shortage like we saw with Ryzens launch.
>>60880573
These aren't high volume products so I doubt there will be shortages like AM4
Think I'll wait for Coffee lake, heard some pretty juicy rumours about the release being pushed forward several quarters.
>>60880601
>release being pushed forward several quarters.
I can imagine the shitshow of a launch, SKylake-X was pushed forward a few quarters as well.
X99 return of the electric boogaloo?
>>60880573
With the amount of segmentation in the x299 socket, I imagine they're going to see some difficulties there.
If you make things difficult for motherboard manufacturers, then they're going to make it difficult for you.
>>60880607
I'm just interested in 6/8 core with hyperthreading to replace my 2600K, current i7/i9's are too expensive to even consider at the moment.
I wonder if they're planning to release coffee lake i9's?
>>60880579
They aren't high volume at the prices Intel charges.
AMD is taking a shit in Intels open mouth by offering amazing CPU performance per dollar.
>>60880465
At least we got a new socket
Thanks intel
AMDfags don't even let intelfags have any discussion anymore about CPUs fucking shitskins, fucking retards
Im using an i7 920 right now. Is it worth upgrading yet?
>>60880702
Depends on what you're doing
>>60880701
You've never discussed CPUs, you've only been fellating a company, and obviously at that point real discussion cannot take place as a Intelfags are limited to youtube-tier marketing drivel by e-celebs, which are limited to reading off a spreadsheet.
>>60880701
>Intelfags crying in an intel troll
Never thought I would see the day...
>>60880701
>on /g/
>expecting an intelligent discussion about CPU/GPU technology where both sides try to find unbiased sources of information.
You forget this is 80% shitposting website and even OP is a faggot for baiting this sort of rubbish. Sage this.
>>60880701
u mad, whiteboi?
>>60880646
Just get Ryzen 1600 or 1700, why wait for Intel's overpriced 6/8 cores?
>>60880713
Mainly for gaymen
>4 cores are just rebranded Skylake
>6 core is gimped
>8 core is $600 with only 28 PCI-E lanes
>>60880997
>why wait for Intel's overpriced 6/8 cores?
They will perform better and I can afford them. If new AMD CPUs are released before then I might consider it, though some of the Ryzen launch issues deter me a bit.
>>60881034
Don't worry, X299 will have it's own launch issues, especially with the mess that is Kabylake X. As for the performance, the Intel chips seem to clock a few hundred megahertz higher than the Ryzens but it's not worth paying almost double.
>>60881029
im not him but i cant even play gta v on a i5 750
>>60881065
Who's saying it will be double by then? i9s seem to be a direct response to ThreadRipper so it's likely that Coffee lake will have actual improvements and a stable launch instead of a rushed xeon rebrand for PR.
>>60881078
I haven't played gta5 but all games ive played lately still seem to work fine. Of course I have no idea how much it'd improve with a better cpu.
My guess is that the 8-core Skylake-X has the same performance as the 16-core Threadripper
>>60881202
They delayed Coffee Lake S 6 cores again. Wait(tm) until next year.
>>60881455
Source? I heard the exact opposite.
>>60881231
The 1800X already matches the 6900K, and TR 16 core is basically two 1800X's. http://imgur.com/a/wMm1C
>10 core 20 thread
So does it make it a xeon processor?

When can I finally get a cell processor? Its the future
HAHAHAHAHAHA
>>60880465
Not so fast.
>>60880610
>If you make things difficult for motherboard manufacturers, then they're going to make it difficult for you.
Platitudes of a neckbeard loser
>>60880465
But does it matter?
