Is Free Software the most autistic ideology of all?
Making a political statement about something that normies can't even comprehend, alienates you further in a crowd of already spergy programmers.
The emphasis on libre rather than free doesn't matter so much in practice, as free cost almost invariably follows from open source. The only challenges are packaging and distribution, which is also provided at no charge by Free Software autists. The benefits are also limited in practice, as few have the capacity to grok source code and most autists would rather spend their time tweaking their window managers for screenshots.
Not to mention, most Free Software volunteers are unpaid for their contributions, ensuring that NEETbux or family are necessary for survival. This is lower than slavery, at least slaves are provided a living.

I agree partly.
But I think all software should simply be mandated to be open source, even paid software. Copyright and patents are enough to protect it to make sure the company can keep selling even when the source code is freely available. That way there is no hidden telemetry/backdoors/holes/bugs devs overlooked, etc.
