I was on here on Saturday night drunkposting about buying a T420s. I got it for less than $200 shipped which makes it a great deal...
It's on the way... but now I am having second thoughts like maybe I should have spent more to get something newer?
I currently have a T510 and love it, but its best use is at home... not very mobile, which I need sometimes.
Assuming the T420s is in good working order I think I will keep it.
However, I'll probably either get a T450 or X220 next.
What do? I might get a spare battery and an extra HDD to put in the cd/dvd slot.
Thanks!
I think you should come ask us at /tpg/
But since this thread already exists,
For the T420s you should get the ultrabay battery, the extended battery and a ssd. Then it's off to the races btfoing macfags left and right
For your next purchase I'd say go with the T450 for something with a bit more kick and better screen

The only real advantage a T420s has for mobility is that it's slim, because it sure doesn't have battery life going for it given you can't expand it. If you wanted something small to complement a T510 then an X220 or X230 would probably have been better, but the T420s is still pretty good in its own right.

>ultrabay battery
The problem is that they're pricey enough to defeat the purpose of buying a cheap laptop, and they're really only useful for hot-swapping bigger batteries.
>extended battery
Slim models get cucked out of them.
